This is my first pastel portrait of Samantha and her first long term pose at Hipbone Studio in Portland, Oregon. I finished this drawing in two sessions, it’s done in Nupastels on unfamiliar paper that a student traded me for my traditional Stonehenge.
I’m starting a couple of books with Ariel and Sister Thyme and I’ve switched back to ink to make them. These are drawings made at Hipbone over the last several weeks featuring Zach, Casey, Johnny and leah. Ink on paper from my sketchbooks.

Saturday found me groggy and out of any deep browns to use on my sketches of Trisha. I’d drawn her before, in pen but never with pastel. I even had a good time on the dreaded “Kneecap, Nipple, Nostril” reclining pose. I’ve missed the one with the hat. I’ll add it in when I remember where I put it. [fb_like]

Deer Island and Sister Thyme
